DAVAO-BASED award-winning fashion designer Wilson Limon has launched new pieces that will surely catch the heart of so many fashionistas.

This year, his brand NIñoFRANCO introduced the linen Kimonos, kaftans, tunic blouse and button-downs with Blaan and Tboli embroidery details.

They also started their made-to-order barongs and skirts.

The kimono, which is made of linen and fully embroidered of either Blaan or Tboli details, is designed to be very versatile and easy to wear.

The kaftan is a perfect resort wear, while the tunic blouse is best for corporate functions.

The button-down shirt, which is made for casual days, has classic silhouette with Mindanawon touch.

Wilson shared that he is very proud of their Barong Tboli since it is the first of its kind and exudes a fresh take on the typical Barong Tagalog.

The skirts, on the other hand, could be worn for casual or formal events, depending on when you are planning to use it.

“From day wear to semi-formal and formal events, we can make custom designs,” the young designer quipped.

When asked where he draws his inspiration from in creating the new NIñOFRANCO lines, Wilson emphasized on their desire to innovate and offer a wide range of merchandise.

“Thus, I always think of new products that could cater to my clients whose taste and aesthetics are the same with NIñOFRANCO,” he explained.

Since I interviewed him back in 2015, when he was just starting out, I have been a witness of Wilson’s commitment to continuously provide high-quality and trendy fashion pieces, while incorporating the Mindanawon culture. With that, his success appears to be unstoppable anymore.

“Consistency is the key to success. You also need to be passionate and patient when you work on your craft,” he said.

“Minding your own business will also help you keep focused on your goal. Don’t forget to pray too,” he further noted.

Amid the success he is reaping because of his undeniable hardwork, Wilson still has a number of things in his mind; that for him, would make his success a truly resounding one.

“I would want to showcase the craftsmanship of the Ethno-Linguistic groups to the world stage. My ultimate dream is to have a show outside the Philippines with the artisans that I work with. I want them to see the beauty of the artisanal works of the tribes from Mindanao,” he concluded.

With your passion and love for Mindanao, I am sure, your vision will happen soon. Kudos!
