Luigi: Give us feedback

MANDAUE City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing vowed to help the private sector push and promote for innovation in the business community.

Speaking at the Mandaue Business Summit last week, Quisumbing promised that his administration will be a strong ally of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in encouraging entrepreneurs to embrace innovation in their business operations.

Quisumbing said he was inspired by the city’s progress in terms of competitiveness and that he wants to make the city a model local government unit (LGU).

He cited Mandaue City’s recognition as the “most improved LGU” in the latest Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

The city ranked second in the most improved highly-urbanized cities after Iloilo City. It also ranked 13th among the most competitive cities, a leap from its 24th rank in 2016.

The city was also named seventh overall in economic dynamism.

To improve its current ranking, Quisumbing urged the private sector to be open with their feedback so the City can make improvements.

He also asked the business community to immediately air their concerns on policies so the City could fine-tune them.

The mayor announced that the City is retraining and retooling their people so they can deliver better services and carry out the mandate to improve the ease of doing business in the country. He said they are working on eliminating delays in the release of permits and licenses.

“We will not stop until Mandaue City becomes a model LGU and the safest in the Visayas and in the country,” said Quisumbing. (KOC)
