CABLE channels via Sky Direct that uses direct to home technology can now be accessed nationwide, said Nicci Sison, Sky Direct product manager.

"With Sky Direct uses a satellite dish, wherever you are in the Philippines be it in the beach or in the mountains, you can have access to cable channels," Sison said.

Sky Direct is available on pre-paid and post-paid plans. "We have plans for P99, P150, P250, and P450. The one-time payment is P2, 599 for the Sky Direct kit that includes the satellite dish and digital box plus installation fee of P1, 000, so the total is P3, 599. This is one-time cost and after that, you can load every month depending on your choice as to how many cards you want to load," Sison said.

Meanwhile, Sky slashes off half the price of its One Sky fiber-powered broadband in key areas around the country to allow more Filipinos to experience high-speed internet home connection.

The first to experience Sky's offer are residents in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Baguio, Cebu, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Davao, General Santos, and Zamboanga.

From August to December 31, interested customers can avail of 50 percent discount on its first three monthly fees plus a low one-time cash out upon installation.

Those availing the One Sky Premium or Lite plans will get the additional perk of a 15-day free access to Sky Cable's full channel line-up, while customers who are interested to sign up for One Sky Broadband streaming plans can enjoy a two-month online access to ABS-CBN free-to-air channels and seven select cable channels (CNN, ANC, Cartoon Network, Warner, History, Blue Ant Entertainment, and Nickelodeon) via Sky on Demand, an online streaming platform exclusive to Sky subscribers.

"The internet is now a basic need, not a bonus amenity in homes. Our discounted Sky Fiber-powered plans would hopefully enable more Filipino families nationwide to access the internet minus the steep fees as the demand for high-speed internet continues to grow," said Alan Supnet, head of Sky broadband products.

He added that Sky's introduction of its discounted One Sky Fiber plans is a response to the increasing number of families who rely heavily on the internet for news, entertainment, and communication as well as dissatisfaction on DSL-based subscription plans offered by other providers.

"We're giving Filipino families an opportunity to enhance the quality of their home internet connection with our fiber-powered broadband plans. This is also the Sky's way of advancing internet penetration in the country," he said.
