UV rips Greywolves apart

THE PTT Fuels-University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers put on a show of force to beat the Prime Asia Lending–Don Bosco Technological College Greywolves (DBTC), 94-76, for their second win in the 2010 Cesafi-Partner’s Cup Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

Today, the Green Lancers will shoot for their third win when they face the unpredictable San Marino Corned Tuna-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors at 5:30 p.m.

The Greywolves had some bright moments as their first five players played toe-to-toe against the taller Lancers for a 23-20 lead to close the first period.

However, it was all downhill for DBTC after that and UV regained composure to drop a 31-14 binge for a 51-37 lead at the half.

Dismal

While UV was on cruise control, DBTC had a dismal showing in the fourth period, when the barangay rule no longer applies.

Meanwhile, just like its college squad, UV’s high school team also proved too much for DBTC, 87-54, while Enervon-University of Cebu Baby Webmasters defeated 2009 Cesafi high school champion team Bibo Hotdog-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildkittens, 84-74.

UV can shoot for its third win against USC today.

Today, DBTC’s high school and collegiate squads will try to rebound from their defeats when they play the Ave Maria Sanctuary Park-University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars.
