2 killed, 7 arrested in Pampanga drug busts

TWO suspected drug personalities were neutralized while seven others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the province of Pampanga on Monday, August 27.

Pampanga Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Nicolas Salvador said the suspects were arrested in the towns of Lubao, Floridablanca, Porac, and Magalang in line with the intensified war on drugs implemented by the police.

In Lubao, Salvador identified the suspects as Shirley Manuyag, 34, listed as No. 14 in the reloaded top illegal drug personality of this town, June Manuyag, 34, and Hernando Dela Rosa, 36, Rodel Lingad, 38, who were all nabbed in the one-time-big-time drug operations.

One Aljay Miguel Samson, 21, who is included in the local drug watchlist, was also arrested by local authorities in Porac town, while Mexico operatives nabbed two drug suspects identified as Richard David, 23, and Arjel Joseph Samia, 31.

All the arrested drug personalities will face charges of violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II, of RA 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, Salvador said.

Two separate anti–illegal drugs operations were also conducted in Magalang and Floridablanca towns which led to the killing of two suspects identified as Reybert Galang, 28, and Raymond D. Lazaro, of legal age.

Salvador said both suspects engaged arresting officers in an armed encounter while trying to elude arrest. He said the police officers were merely defending themselves.

Confiscated from Galang were a .45 Caliber chamber loaded firearm with markings “Armscor .45”, seven sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), various drug paraphernalia and personal belongings and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

Also seized from Lazaro were nine sachets of suspected shabu, one revolver pistol loaded with live ammunition, and other personal belongings.
