TWO suspects were killed in separate armed encounters with the police in the City of San Fernando and Sta. Ana town Wednesday afternoon, August 29.
In the City of San Fernando, two robbery and hold-up suspects became subject of a police operation after their alleged victim from Barangay Dela Paz here reported to police their illegal activities.
During the operation, the suspects allegedly resisted arrest and fired at the police officers. One of the suspects was killed while the other escaped.
Confiscated from the slain suspect were 20 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), a gun and other personal belongings.
Meanwhile, one suspected drug personality was killed after allegedly resisting arrest during a drug bust conducted in Barangay Sta. Maria in Sta. Ana town.
The suspect was identified as Challer Marañion, a resident of adjacent Mexico town. Marañion’s companion, who was unidentified, was also able to elude arrest onboard a motorcycle.
Confiscated from Marañion were three sachets of suspected shabu, a .38 caliber gun, the marked money used in the operation, and other personal belongings.
