PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will be the guest speaker during one of the series of activities for the Peace Consciousness Month in September led by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).
According to Hope Fernandez of Mindanao Peace Council, a partner non-government office (NGO) of OPAPP, they will start with a fun run for the lumad schools in Sitio Inamong, Arakan, North Cotabato on Sunday, September 2, 2018.
This will be followed by a Peace Fair in Abreeza Ayala Malls on September 11-13 and a Peace Concert called Huni sa Kalinaw in Rizal Park on September 28 where delegations from Aparri to Jolo are expected to join.
“They [delegates] will be presenting their peace aspirations to the President himself who will be our guest speaker by then,” Fernandez said.
“Para ni mapalawig pa gyud sa katawhan ug unsa pa gyud ang state of the peace process diri sa atong nasud (This [activity] is to let the public know about the state of the peace process in the country),” she added.
The activity’s theme is “Peace na tayo! Mithiing Kapayapaan, sama-samang isakatuparan.
