Pampanga entrepreneurs join 'Go Negosyo'

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 600 young and prospective entrepreneurs from Pampanga and other parts of Central Luzon joined a Go Negosyo seminar recently to learn "proven techniques" in establishing and running business.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Blesila Lantayona said the agency and Go Negosyo have partnered for the event.

She said the speakers and trainers tackled issues on financing facilities for micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs at the Negosyo Seminar held at Maria Assumpta Seminary auditorium in the City of Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija.

Lantayona said the project is undertaken by the DTI-regional Operations and Development Group, in coordination with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship -Go Negosyo.

Go Negosyo has been advocating entrepreneurship since it came into being in October 2005. It was formed when Jose Concepcion was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as presidential consultant on entrepreneurship.

Participants came from business sector, academe, out-of-youths, Overseas Filipino Workers and other organizations and institutions. The one-day seminar is free of charge.

Various topics such as finding business opportunities and choosing the market for the business, developing and innovating actual products and services, marketing the business and funding the business and managing the finances were tackled during the whole-day seminar.

"We hope that our entrepreneurs can now implement their respective business plans more effectively with the things they learned from the seminar," Lantayona said.
