PORAC -- The local police here arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations last Wednesday in Model Community, Barangay Pio Model Community in this town.

Superintendent Abel Lingat, town's police chief, identified the suspects as Marilou Bucud, 39, married, a resident of block 28 lot 75; and Arnel Ayson alias "Tubal", 45, married, of Block 1 Lot 66, both at the Model community in Barangay Pio.

Lingat said the two suspects were arrested in two separate buy-bust operation led by Inspector Efren David.

He said Ayson was arrested in front of the Tomadachi Videoke bar, while Bucud was arrested in her mother's house. Both of them were reportedly selling suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or more commonly known as "shabu".

Seized from Ayson was one medium plastic size sachet containing suspected shabu and a P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust operation.

Recovered from Bucud's possession, on the other hand, was a medium-size plastic sachet containing shabu and a P500 market bill also used in the operation.

Both suspects were brought to the Porac Police Station for investigation. Cases were filed against them before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office for violation of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165.

Porac Mayor Rogelio Santos commended Lingat and the entire police force of this town for their "no nonsense" fight against illegal drugs.

Santos said the local government unit is one with the police in its campaign against all forms of criminality and lawless elements. (Chris Navarro)
