WITH the Higalaay festivities recently ended, girls will need a much-needed pampering after spending the days partying and celebrating the patron saint of Cagayan de Oro.
Thus, it is quite timely that a new nail salon and spa, famed by its gel nail services, has established a branch here in the city.
Mich & Myl nails, the "most advanced" nail salon in the Philippines, has recently opened its eleventh branch at SM Downtown Premier, Cagayan de Oro City, last Monday, August 27.
The nail salon and spa is focused on providing its clients with professional and friendly service that is "sure to change your idea of what a nail spa should be."
Mylene Flores, a nail specialist who first introduced gel nails in the Philippines, shared that what made Mich & Myl Nails the "most advanced" nail salon is its licensed and professionally trained nail technicians, who are schooled on the latest nail techniques direct from Japan.
Flores, herself, studied the art of nails since 2010 not only in Japan but also in United States, Hong Kong, among others, and wherever there are new nail trends, she is sure to be there.
"It’s a passion of mine. Actually my mother, when I was small, she really loves to have manicure, pedicure every week. So parang gamay pa ko, lagi kong nakikita yung manikurista ba, so parang input na yun sa kin," Flores said.
Mich & Myl Nails' services include: gel nails, gel nail arts, nail arts, 3D nail arts, acrylic nail extension, waxing, threading, reflexology, back massage, manicure, pedicure, spa treatments, paraffin treatment, Mich & Myl kids, body massage and eyelash extension.
"Our services man gud is not cheap, pagdating sa gel. And gel nails is barato ra nang P780 up to P2,000. We have so many choices. Tapos ang nail extension, from P2,000 to P2,500, depends on the length," Flores said, adding that their target market are those who are in the middle and high class of the society.
Apart from their luxurious services, the nail salon also assures its clients of their finest nail products such as OPI, OPI Infinite Shine, Essie, TINS, Orly, Ezflow, Bella Forma, Cuccio, Morgan Taylor, Leafgel Premium, Can I, T Gel, Gelish, Miss Mirage, Ice Gel and Premdoll.
According to Flores, the Cagayan de Oro branch is their first and possibly the only branch in Mindanao, saying that they usually open branches within the Manila area.
Flores was a born Kagay-anon who is currently staying in Japan with her husband. However, they often travel back and forth Japan and the Philippines.
Despite having most of its stores in the northern part of the country, Flores said she established the Cagayan de Oro branch as a dedication to her mother who passed away last year.
"Because she loved nail so much, ingon ko 'mag-open ko dinhi para sa akong mother,'" Flores said.
She is planning to open four more branches within this year, namely in Shore Residences, Pasay City; SM Cubao; 34th Street BGC; and Arcovia City.
Flores also mentioned her plans to establish Mich & Myl Nails in United States and Japan.
