SAN MARINO-University of San Carlos (USC) sank six free throws in the final two minutes to upset the PTT-Fuels University, of the Visayas, 78-74, in the Partners Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.

Giovanni Padillo had 15 points for USC, while Harold Cincoflores and John Abad had 10 each for UV.

Meanwhile, Jabe Delfino scored all of his six points in the first period to lead a 19-7 blitz as the Ave Maria Sanctuary Park-University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars beat the Prime Asia-Don Bosco Technological College Greywolves, 76-62, for their second win.

Marvin Duran also scored 15 points in the third to foil a comeback by the Greywolves, who had Alain de los Santos scoring 10 of his 13 points in the third period.

Duran finished with 17 points for USJ-R, while de los Santos scored 13. Jefford Aldave added 11.

In the high school contest, the Jaguars banked on a 31-18 lead in the opening quarter to withstand the challenge of the Greywolves.
