2 charged for gun ban violation

THE City Prosecutor's Office charged two men found in possession of unlicensed firearms while having a drinking spree in Barangay Centro in Agdao, Davao City, late last month.

Charged with illegal possession of firearms in relation to the Omnibus Election Code were Diosdado Ramos Amores, 45, and Noel Bustamante, 27, both residents of Centro.

Prosecutor Mariam Mastura found probable cause to hold them for court trial based on the accounts of arresting policeman PO1 Milo Campoamor of the Mobile Patrol Group.

In an affidavit, Campoamor said at around 1:45 p.m. on January 22, he was called to assist barangay officials headed by chairman Rene Estorpe with regards to armed men seen in the area.

Recovered from Amores was a homemade 3516 revolver with serial number 052262 and six live ammunitions and from Bustamante was a homemade 357 revolver with serial number 081066 loaded with six live ammunition.

The two were endorsed to the Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detective Management Unit for recording.

Mastura recommended a bailbond of P80,000 for each of the respondent's temporary liberty.
