THE City Government of Davao intends to sponsor operations of Dabawenyos who are suffering from gallstones as Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte had.
Duterte blamed the gallstone operation for the drop in his weight.
A total of 14 gallstones were removed from his bladder, he said, adding such condition is very painful.
"All the while I thought it was just due to my Barret's esophagus disease. Pero ginapukaw ko sa sakit sa akong tiyan dapit. Pag-pacheck up nako naa diay koy bato sa gall bladder. Katorse kabuok bato ang nakuha didto (The pain would wake me up. When I underwent a check-up, they found gall stones, 14 of them)," Duterte recalled.
"Kung naa pud moy sakit sama nako, paoperahan ta mo. Ang gobyerno bahala sa gasto, total inyuha man nang kwarta (If you are in pain, government will shoulder your operation, anyway, that's people's money)," Duterte said.
Duterte admitted having lost five pounds in just two weeks. This is because he never had a big appetite and was forced to cut down further his intake of food because of the pain.
Co-host and Councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta jested Duterte's wrinkles have become obvious due to his weight loss, which brought the conversation to Botox treatment for his wrinkles.
"Dili ko anang botox. Pero kadtong akong kalaban, sige daw 'to pa-botox. Mao tan-awa ninyo nang iyang nawong, dili na kayo kakatawa kay nanggahi na ang nawong sa sige'g botox (I will not undergo botox treatment, but my opponent uses that, that's the reason why he can no longer smile a lot.
