A POLICEMAN and an alleged mentally-ill man were wounded in a stoning incident on Escario St., Barangay Kamputhaw on Monday afternoon, September 3.

According to Senior Police Officer 3 Darius Libanan of the Fuente police, Police Officer 1 Berlino Ricafort responded to an alarm, where an alleged mentally-ill man was reportedly throwing stones at cars parked in the area.

When Ricafort arrived in the area, he saw the man holding a stone.

He identified himself as a policeman but the man allegedly threw the stone at him instead.

The policeman was hit on the leg and he shot at the man's leg to neutralize him.

However, the man continued to throw a stone at Ricafort hitting and wounding him in the head.

Ricafort asked for help from Angkas biker, Francis Belecario, who stopped the man attacking Ricafort.

"Nisuway pa man siya'g sumbag sa pulis niya nalipong naman to ang police kay nagkadugo na iyang ulo," Belecario said.

The mentally-ill man was reportedly hit on his leg and abdomen.

Both were rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC). (JOB)
