P63M turned over to social services office

THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) received P63 million from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Davao for its supplemental feeding program in Davao City on Monday, September 3.

DSWD-Davao, represented by assistant regional director Raquel Nuñez, turned over the cheque to Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag and CSSDO head Ma. Luisa Bermudo during the flag ceremony at City Hall.

"Ang kani syang fund kay para ni siya sa atong 34,693 ka mga bata to cover our 695 daycare centers and home-based facilities throughout Davao City (This fund is for the 34,693 kids to cover our 695 daycare centers and home-based facilities throughout Davao City)," Bermudo said in an interview.

The feeding will start immediately after receipt of the fund. The activity will cover 120 feeding days cycle for children aged three to four years old.

Bermudo said the supplemental feeding involves the parents because they will be the ones to prepare the food of their children.

"Sila mismo ang mag-prepare ana kay atong ginatan-aw na even in their respective homes, they can also do that (They will be the ones to prepare because we wanted them to do it on their respective homes too)," Bermudo said.

She said the supplemental feeding will serve all those in daycare centers and home-based facilities of CSSDO.

"Dili na nato hulaton na ang mga bata ma-severely underweight (We will not wait for the children to be severely underweight)," she said.
