NPA denies threatening civilians

THE Leonardo Panaligan Command (LPC) of the New People's Army (NPA) denied the charges hurled against them by Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas director Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao.

"The NPA do not harass and threat civilians and carries fair judgment based on the order of the People's Court which is contrary to the claims of Bulalacao," Ka JB Regalado, spokesman of the LPC said in a statement.

Regalado said the rebels only gave justice to the human rights violation that resulted to the execution of village chiefs Mike Jakosalem and Jekjek Masicampo of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental and former San Agustin, Isabela village chairman Agapito Euroba and Barangay Libas chairman Rhoy Pagapang.

"What is alarming is the cover-up of the real political issues committed by the politicians in the fifth district and the tolerance of the army, policemen and the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) of the dirty tactics of the said politicians," Regalado said.

He claimed that a certain politician in the fifth district is behind the issuance of the warrant of arrest against Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo and her husband Felix Mathias Yulo, the threats against La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan and the two ambush attempts against Adrian Vallaflor.
