NINE persons were arrested in separate drug bust operations which resulted in a recovery of an estimated P457, 500 worth of illegal drugs in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
In Talisay City, Marlon Cordero, 41, of Barangay Rizal, Silay City was arrested inside a pension house on Monday, September 3, after he allegedly sold a shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to a police agent for P500.
Police seized from Cordero 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 20 grams worth P240, 000, and the P500 marked money.
In Bacolod City, Personnel of City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested William Gonzales and Vicente Sudayon at Barangay 2 on Monday, September 3.
Police seized from them 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 18 grams worth P185, 000, and the P1, 000 marked money.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2.
Also in Bacolod City, target subject Erika Narvasa, 23, of Barangay 8, a newly-identified drug personality; and Renante Gellang, 48, of Barangay Sum-ag, were arrested in the said village on Sunday, September 2 after they yielded six sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P25,000, the P200 marked money, and two improvised tooters.
Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said Narvasa’s former partner is also in jail for drugs.
A policeman was injured during a brief chase when Gellang tried to escape, he added.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2.
In a separate operation, Jinky Togonon and Joey Togonon were arrested at Barangay Banago on the same day after police confiscated from them a sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, pouch, and the P200 marked money.
Both suspects are newly-identified drug personalities. They are detained at Police Station 3.
In Cadiz City, 51-year-old Stephen Diploma and Gladys Prizaldo, 46, both residents of Barangay Zone 3 were arrested in the said village on September 2 for the recovery of eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P7, 500, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.
