NCCA, OPM gears up for Filipino Music Unity Run

In celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino, as per Executive Order No. 255 signed July 25, 1987, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) led by its chairman, National Artist Virgilio Almario together with the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), will be holding a unity campaign run entitled OPM RUN 2018, set on September 30, 2018 at Ortigas East formerly Frontera Drive. The assembly time is 5 a.m., with the gun-call at 6 a.m.

An activity ideal for families, friends and pet bonding, participants can choose from loops 1.5 KM and 3 KM for P750; 5 KM for P850; and 10 KM for P950. Inclusions will be an official short sleeve apparel designed by Defy Athletics and a medal. Participants can register at Estancia Capital Commons; Bridgeway Tiendisitas Bldg. B, Ground Floor; Greenhills; and V-Mall. This is open to all ages, and even with dogs as a running company.

This event aims to raise awareness about EO 255 requiring all radio stations with musical format programs to broadcast a minimum of four original Filipino musical compositions in every clock hour. Moreover, OPM also aims to further familiarize their role to the millennial generation to provide assistance and uphold rights of Filipino singers, and promote homegrown talents through concerts, celebrations and music conferences.
