RECENTLY, the Senate and the Congress have ratified the legal assistance of the poor act of 2010.
This gives a private attorney to defend the poor people that face raps.
The said act is an "act providing legal assistance to the poor and entitling lawyers and law firms to a tax credit for legal services rendered to pauper clients and for other purposes."
"'Yun pong mga de kampanilyang abugado pwede na po nilang kunin, ipaglaban sila at walang mayaman at mahirap dito sa batas na ito." Senator Lito lapid said.
Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Chief lawyer Percida Acosta for her part said they are in favor of the said act because it would be a way to have a balance justice system. (Tashuana Alemania/Sunnex)
