Sungduan: Travel experience

VISITING the different destinations in Ifugao for the first time has been a travel to remember for a Cordilleran who hails from Besao, Mountain Province but now based in Hawaii with his family.

Nelson Bustamante, a member of the US army, said every year he makes it a point to visit beautiful places in Cordillera. This time he has chosen Ifugao, the province of his wife who is from the municipality of Lamut.

He enjoyed his trek to the beautiful places in Mayayao like the centuries-old rice terraces where the Pyramid-shaped native houses are situated and declared by Unesco as the “Living Cultural Heritage Site” in 1995.

“Its beauty is really breathtaking,” he proudly said.

Another attraction in the municipality is the Tenogtog Falls with three natural pools. That was another travel experience to remember for him.

His trek in Hungduan, a perfect place for travelers who really love adventure was also very memorable as he was warmly welcomed by the residents there.

At first his intention was just to discover the hot springs in the area but he was convinced by the community not to miss the magnificent rice terraces. Immediately, his eyes were glued to the breathtaking scenery.

His wonderful travel experiences were documented through his drone camera. He even made and audio visual presentations about it and now posted in Facebook with thousands of views.

“Now I’m more inspired and eager to explore our land,” he added.

There are a lot of beautiful places in the Cordillera, revered as one of the favorite destinations by tourists, waiting to be rediscovered. With Bustamante’s promotion of some of these places in the social media, many will appreciate more the beauty of the region.
