‘Tagpuan Day’ rice distribution continues

THE National Food Authority (NFA) together with District 1 Representative Celso Lobregat continued the distribution of rice in the villages through the Rice Response Delivery System Program dubbed as “Tagpuan Day.”

On Thursday, September 6, hundreds of residents flocked to the village halls of Sto. Niño and San Jose-Cawa-Cawa to avail of the rice distribution, with a minimal cost of only P27 a kilo.

Lobregat noted that the 100 sacks per day disbursement of NFA rice is lacking “but at least it can serve the poorest of the poor by providing them rice at very low cost.”

The NFA is selling rice at P27 per kilo wherein 100 sacks are being sold per barangay. Each family can buy a maximum of 5 kilos.

Lobregat has ensured the orderliness in the distribution of the rice to indigent families in the first district in response to the rice shortage being experienced in this city.
