ABOUT 500 Negrenses availed of the mobile passport processing service dubbed as “Passport on Wheels” conducted by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, held at SM City Bacolod Thursday, September 6.

The DFA central office staff led in the processing of the passport applications that were pre-registered with the Special Projects and Concerns Division (SPCD) of the provincial government on August 1 to 31, 2018.

The registered applicants have received a confirmation email providing them with reference numbers and paid at accredited payment centers prior to the event, through the assistance of the SPCD staff.

SPCD officer-in-charge Lisa Coronel said that DFA-Manila provided them a portal to be able to encode the applicants’ data and advised them of the needed requirements.

The applicants expressed their gratitude to the provincial government and DFA for the efficient processing of their passport application.

Marlo Villanueva of Talisay City said that the processing system was managed well and was very convenient for the applicants.

Mark Pelaez of Silay City said that he was particularly impressed by the efficient and fast processing of his passport application and the friendly staff.

The activity was held to provide more venues for faster passport applications as well as assist individuals who cannot go online for their application schedule. (PR)
