Nights around the world

HAROLDS Hotel has come up with new themes for its themed nights buffet to spice up the nights in H Café. It’s time to experience global food without having to buy a plane ticket—one night in H Café is all it takes.

Every Monday, the buffet is set with “chow dynasty.” It is a feast suited for the emperors of the East with Asian dishes like Bhindi Pakora with Mango Chutney and Raita, Wonton Soup and the like plus a Dimsum station ready to satisfy that Chinese cuisine craving. To top it all off, prepare one’s stomach for a refreshing pandan custard cake and coconut windmill cake for a satisfactory and complete meal.

Tuesdays in H Café are set with the theme planet of the Greeks, with food created to please the taste buds of gods and goddesses. Notable dishes include a fattoush salad and crispy crab cake to tickle the appetite, and then spachcock chicken and churrasco with al verde sauce for the main dish, and namoura almond bars and churros to end the meal.

Wednesdays are for elements of “seaprise” when seafood is highlighted and are created into dishes that will definitely make one go for seconds. The fish en croute and an oven baked salt-crusted fish for carving is the main star on Wednesday nights.

There are supposed to be just eight of these in the entire world but in H Café, there is a feast every Thursday with the theme “wonders of the world.” From New York to India, H Café has one booked with its buffet. The theme also has the H Café’s newest executive chef Vince Encorporado’s star dish which is the bacon explosion, a dish made of ground pork and ground beef wrapped together in bacon.

An empire steak of mind will be waiting every Friday in H Café with a slow roasted U.S. chuck eye beef, roasted pork loin ala steak diane and chocolate fondant for dessert as part of the highlights of the night.

Last, every Saturday we come home to savor Filipino, for a few days away will make one miss the bagnet, kare-kare and kansi soup with matching binignit and banana langka turon for dessert.

Themed nights happen from 6 to 9 p.m. from Monday to Saturday in H Café, Harolds Hotel.
