Lagonglong gets back at Talisayan in 25-U Kuyamis caging

HOST Talisayan and Lagonglong cagers had their matches in basketball -- breaking even -- on Saturday’s resumption of the Kuyamis Inter-Municipality Sportsfest Governor Yevgeny Emano Cup held at the Talisayan Municipal gym, Misamis Oriental.

Talisayan junior bets thrashed Lagonglong Jr. team, 92-73 in the 18-under (18-U) boys division during the opener.

Lagonglong’s older dribblers quickly avenged their younger team’s loss via s come-from-behind 133-123 victory over the host team in the 25-U division.

Raymart Agbu fired 17 points to lead Talisayan, while Richard Maldo and Christian Cayetuna added 12 and 8 points, respectively.

Talisayan 18U was already in command building an insurmountable 28 points lead at the half.

Lagonglong threatened in third quarter, but could only cut it down to 16.

Talisayan solidified its place in East division with a perfect 3-0 slate, while Lagonglong is at 1-1.

Lagonglong’s 25U cagers can only bask in delight after overcoming the rival host.

Angelo Castil finished with 25 points for Lagonglong, while Reymar Pacana delivered 20.

Lagonglong survived a tumultuous fourth quarter battle with three key players from both teams being fouled out as early in the third period.

From 121-all deadlock, Lagonglong finally made a breakthrough behind a 12-2 run ignited by a fired-up Castil.
