Schrock is back in Azkals

AFTER years of absence from the national team, top Filipino-German midfielder Stephan Schrock is back in the Philippine Men's Football Team Azkals following his recent call up for the FIFA International Friendly Match against Bahrain at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.

The match is part of the Azkals' preparation for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 and the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.

The team is led by its new head coach Scott Cooper, who hailed from England and had prior coaching stints in Thailand and Indonesia. He will be assisted by former national team player Chris Greatwich and Steve Marsella.

Joining Schrock in the Philippine squad are his Ceres Negros FC teammates defenders Amani Aguinaldo, Carlos de Murga, and Junior Muñoz; midfielders Paul Mulders, Ott siblings Manny and Mike, and Patrick Reichelt; and forward Curt Jordan Dizon.

Also called up are Davao Aguilas FC's midfielder Adam Tull and Dylan de Bruycker; forward Phil Younghusband, and keeper Patrick Deyto; Global Cebu FC custodian Louie Michael Casas; Stallion Laguna FC forward Dutch Arboleda; and Kaya Iloilo FC keeper Nathanael Ace Villanueva and striker Jovin Bedic.

International players also called up are keeper Neil Leonard Etheridge– Cardiff City FC (England), Luke Woodland -Suphanburi FC (Thailand), Angel Guirado – Negiri Sembilan FA (Malaysia), Daisuke Sato – Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe (Romania), Hikaru Minegishi– Pattaya United (Thailand) and Stephan Palla – Buriram United (Thailand).
