THE City Government of San Fernando (CSF) recently kicked off this year’s celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) at the city hall here.

Mayor Edwin Santiago told city government employees and officials that they, as government employees, must always align their work on the CSC’s advocacies of being God-fearing, compassionate, patriotic and nature lover.

“I am thanking the City Human Resource Development Office (CHRDO) for taking the initiative so that we can join the commission in promoting service with love for God, the people, the environment, and of course, Fernandinos,” Santiago said.

Throughout the PCSA observance in the past 118 years, the CSC has always been shaping public servants’ capabilities in the country, being the “premiere human resource institution of the Philippine government.”

Since the City of San Fernando joined CSC in this year’s PCSA, it lined up activities that include the “Anti Red Tape Act (ARTA) Watch” in leading offices of the local government unit, which began on July 24 and will end on September 19, 2018.

Another program is the first city employees’ outreach program which commenced on September 3, bringing benefits to street children, mendicants, and orphans in here, through the distribution of school supplies and hygiene kits.

Meanwhile, “Action Officers of the Day” will run the whole month of September, to give all employees a chance to become action officers in a given time and reinforce their customer service skills.

An orientation about the importance of balanced mental health state called “Mind Matters: A Mental Health Awareness Forum/Workshop” is one of the activities of the PCSA celebration for employees set on September 14, followed by the third value alignment course on September 18.

A film showing and group discussion for section chiefs will be held on September 20, which intends to develop employee efficiency, fair work, and family relations.

Employees who have rendered ten years and succeeding five years of service in the city government will be recognized on September 21 during the “Loyalty Awards 2018.”

An award-giving event titled “Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence” (PRAISE) which centers on acknowledging outstanding individual employees and groups will be held on September 24.

Through the initiative of the CSC regional and field offices and Pampanga local government units, the “CSC Month Zumba for a Cause” will be conducted on September 26.
