‘Nubain queen,’ 3 others fall in dormitory drug bust

A HIGH-VALUE target tagged as “Nubain Queen” and three of his cohorts were arrested by Cebu City police after they yielded 540 ampoules of nubain inside a dormitory on N. Bacalso St., Barangay Sambag 1 last Friday evening.

The subject of the buy-bust was identified as Louie Goopio, 25, who was caught along with Gerald Amador, 24, Johnrey Molinio, 24 and Albert Coquiao, 35.

“He can be considered a big-time distributor and his alleged source of illegal drugs came from Manila. He can reportedly dispose of 1,000 ampoules per week,” said Chief Insp. Maria Theresa Macatangay, head of the Abellana Police Station.

Goopio was identified as a high-value target by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Cebu City Police Office.

He was also included in the top 10 priority target list of the Parian Police Station. The suspects hail from Barangay Kamagayan.

The buy-bust operation was conducted after police received information of the alleged illegal drug activities of Goopio.

Seized from the suspects were 540 ampoules of nubain with an estimated value of P137,500 and buy-bust money worth P1,000.

Macatangay said they are now tracking down other personalities who are in cahoots with Goopio after the latter revealed to the authorities how he got his supply of nubain. JOB
