Alviera, Manila Water lauded for support to Aeta village

PORAC Mayor Condralito dela Cruz on Monday, September 10, presented plaques of appreciation to officials of Alviera and Manila Water Company for their support to the Aeta village of Sapang Uwak.

Dela Cruz said the two entities have been instrumental in realizing the construction of a high school building and water system for the said barangay.

It could be remembered that House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led the turnover of a new school building and a water system to an Aeta community.

The Sapang Uwak High School building that was donated by Alviera, is a joint venture development of Ayala Land, Inc. and Leonio Land Holdings, Inc. while the new water station in Barangay Sapang Uwak was provided by Manila Water Company.

Dela Cruz presented the plaques to the officers of the two companies thanking them for their support in realizing the two projects. Dela Cruz said that Aeta residents of Sapang Uwak have long been asking for the establishment of a secondary school in the area.

The Department of Education recently agreed to the request. The school now has two classrooms for three dozen Aeta students.

Dela Cruz said that the high school students of the said barangay will no longer need to travel to the next village to attend classes.
