SAGAY City FC had a solid performance on Sunday when they demolished University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Rams, 7-2, in the Leg 2 quarterfinals of the ongoing Negros First Nofa Provincial Football Championship 2018 at the Ramon Torres Memorial Sports Complex in Bago City.
The Sagaynons, inspired by the presence of Mayor Alfredo Marañon III and sports chief Benson Fernandez, blasted the net for a 4-1 lead at the break.
Leading scorers for Sagay City FC are Miguel Marañon and Zoren Baril with two goals each while Ryan Monares, Melbert Santillan and Argel Pantoja contributed a goal apiece.
Sagay City also blanked the Rams in Leg 1 quarterfinals at the former’s turf.
The northern Negros-based club will face University of St. La Salle in the two-leg semi-finals on September 29 to 30 tentatively at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
La Salle knocked out San Carlos City in their quarterfinal face-off.
Also eyeing to enter the semi-finals are Bago City FC and Villa Angela FC which ruled Escalante City FC and Don Bosco Victorias FC in Leg 1 quarterfinals, respectively. (HGD)
