MONETARY Board Member Antonio Abacan Jr. will lead the awarding ceremony for the stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Western Visayas today, September 11, at Diversion 21 Hotel in Iloilo City.
Waffle Time Inc. will be the recipient of the Outstanding Respondent among the large and medium firms while Navstar Gasoline Station (Total) will be recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among small firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) in Region 6.
The Department of Tourism-Western Visayas will receive the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments.
The Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs of the BSP are Iloilo Supermart Inc. and Banco De Oro Unibank Inc.-Cash Hub Center for clean note policy; Cabugao Norte Elementary School, Happyville Academy and Eagle Scouts of the Philippines-Bacolod City Council of Boy Scouts of the Philippines for coin recirculation; and Robinsons Mall Iloilo, Robinsons Place Roxas and City Sectoral Office-Office of the Mayor, City of Bacolod for demonetization of the new design series.
The Outstanding Regional Partners in implementing BSP advocacy on the conduct of public information campaigns are West Visayas State University-College of Business and Management, Hercor College High School Department and Department of Social Welfare and Development—Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program—Bacolod City.
The Outstanding Partner for the Knowledge Resource Network (KRN) will be given to Central Philippine University Library.
Lastly, West Visayas State University will be the recipient of the Gold Hall of Fame award after winning in the same award category for three consecutive years.
Each awardee will receive the "Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle" trophy, while the Gold Hall of Fame awardee will receive the "Soaring to Greater Heights" trophy, both of which were crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor Ferdinand Cacnio.
This event embodies the successful alliances that have helped the BSP with the attainment of its mandate.
The annual stakeholders' awards in Western Visayas marked the eighth in a series of 12 regional stakeholders' events for this year. (PR)
