Pangan: The imaginary invalid

REMEMBER the story of the man who imagined illnesses he was suffering and indeed became ill, all because he imagined hard to have them?

This situation is analogous to the case of the Chief Executive of our nation who keeps spewing out invectives, reckless and tactless speeches in different fora, both here and abroad, to the discomfort of the people he was alluding to.

His particular "victims" are not his allies but those who crossed his path like the "yellows" and his critics, foremost of whom is the Senator of the Republic, Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV, now the subject of his hate statements and actions, including pushing for his immediate arrest.

He accuses people even without solid basis and this reckless "witch hunt" does not do him good and reflects his bad upbringing. As a lawyer and former prosecutor, he should be careful and calculated as to his accusations and tirades.

Now, he is claiming that there is an ouster move to forcibly boot him out of office and he blames Trillanes and his supporters, leftists and communists and the "dilawans".

To this accusation, Trillanes and supporters vehemently deny saying he (Duterte) is just imagining things. It's all in his mind. He's already paranoid, says Trillanes.

Senator Francis Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party, said the opposition did not have to destabilize the Duterte administration because it was already destabilizing itself. A case of self-destructing perhaps?

The Communist Party of the Philippines has compared Mr. Duterte to the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos for unilaterally ordering the arrest of Senator Trillanes. Have you noticed the striking similarity, dear readers.

Instead of babbling about so many things, Mr. Duterte should stay put and focus on the myriad problems besetting the country and its struggling residents, don’t you agree?

The problems are too many and heavy to ignore.

Mayor Marino "Boking" Morales claims there is a chance that he would reclaim his old position with the Petition for Certiorari he has filed with the Supreme Court. Awaiting it is worth the wait, he says, as he is optimistic that the grounds cited in the said petition were strong and meritorious as to allow his comeback. Abangan.
