THE organizers of the Cebu Marathon will open a three-day early bird promo for the 42-kilometer and 21K categories starting tomorrow until Sunday at the Active Zone Ayala Center Cebu.
The early bird rate is at P1,800 for the 42K and P1,400 for the 21K. The first 500 registrants will receive Ayala Cinemas movie passes and a special edition Cebu Marathon visor.
The 12th edition of the annual race organized by the Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC), which also coincides with the Sinulog celebrations, is on Jan. 13 next year.
Aside from the long-distance 42K and 21K categories, the fitness buffs and short distance runners can take part in the event in the 5K category. The organizers are expecting around 5,000 runners next year.
The race will start and finish at the Cebu Business Park. The course will cover Cebu’s city’s premier business district, passing the Provincial Capitol, Osmeña Blvd., Fuente Osmeña and Colon St.
Just like in the the previous editions, the participants will have timing chips on their race bibs and their registration fee will cover the office race shirt, finishers’ medal, finishers’ shirt, post race meals and raffle entries.
The organizers said that they’re expecting international participants and runners from different parts of the country. The event will have its official launching today at the Ayala Center Cebu. (RSC)
