OVER 4,000 passengers were stranded in various ports in the country due to the threat of Typhoon Ompong (international name Mangkhut), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Friday, September 14.
The PCG said that as of 4 a.m., 1,311 passengers were stranded in ports in Bicol, 680 in Eastern Visayas, 1,447 in Southern Visayas, 658 in Southern Luzon, and 557 in Southwestern Mindanao.
It added that 613 rolling cargoes, 55 vessels and 18 motor bancas were not allowed to venture due to rough seas.
