City of San Fernando senior citizens get social pension

SOME senior citizens from the City of San Fernando recently received their P1,500 amount of social pension during the third payout organized by the city government led by Mayor Edwin Santiago, City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs.

The program gave opportunity to Fernandino senior citizens who are not part of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s social pension program, Social Security System's pension giving, and Government Service Insurance System, among others.

Mayor Edwin Santiago said that the city government will always give support and assistance to the elders, who also get social services that include free medical check-ups at the City Health Office, and movie passes every Monday to enhance their health and lifestyle.

“This is a way in which we can show love and respect to our seniors, since they are the reason why and what we are today. Here in San Fernando, no one will be left behind. Together we have to provide care for each other so that we can achieve development together,” Santiago said.
