EARLY favorite Davao City National High School (DCNHS) and Vicente Hizon, Sr. Elementary School (VHSES) clinched the secondary girls and elementary girls titles, respectively, in the 2nd Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Inter-Public School Volleyball tournament at DCNHS covered court yesterday afternoon.

DCNHS cruised past F. Bangoy National High School (FBNHS), 25-10, 25-19, in their championship game.

DCNHS spikers earlier demolished Tagakpan National High School (TNHS), 25-13, 25-14 in the semifinals. FBNHS survived past Baguio National School of Arts and Trades (BNSAT), 26-24, 24-26, 25-11 to arrange a titular showdown with DCNHS.

BNSAT, for its part, outlasted TNHS, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22 in their battle for third.

In elementary girls finals, VHSES breezed past Tambobong Elementary School (TES), 25-13, 25-10, after subduing Davao Special School in three sets of the semifinals.

TES advanced to the finals by stunning defending champion Kabacan Elementary School (KES), 23-25, 25-23, 25-16 in their semifinals clash.

KES bounced back, however, by pulling off 16-25, 25-15, 27-25 victory over Davao Special School for third place.

KES elementary boys spikers, meanwhile, were slugging it out against Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr. Elementary School (KTMSES) in the elementary boys title match as of Friday, September 14, presstime.

The bronze medal went to Baliok Elementary School, a 25-23, 25-20 winner over Malagos Elementary School.
