ELEVEN individuals were arrested by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-COR) under its continuous campaign against illegal gambling and illegal drug operations over the week.
Following the arrest, PRO-COR regional director Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana urged the public to report to the police any criminal activity that is about to happen, happening and those that have already happened in their respective communities.
Operatives of Baguio City Police Office Police Station 9 arrested eight persons who were caught in the act of playing “pusoy” in the afternoon of September 10 in Purok 21 Sariling Sikap San Carlos Heights, Irisan, Baguio City, after a concerned citizen reported the ongoing illegal activity to the police.
Arrested were taxi drivers Rodrigo Gallezo Cortez, 62 and Ronaldo Gallezo Cortez, 46; Jefferson Agoncillo Agustin, 43; Gil Dangsi Delos Santos, 53, Emil Gorez Carreon, 44, all construction workers; Chito Dupisen Payadkeo, 63; Audie Bias Demot, 45, and Samuel Fernandez Costales, 51, welder.
All are residents of Purok 21 Sariling Sikap, San Carlos Heights, Baguio City. Confiscated from them were bet money amounting to P2,850 and 52 pieces of plastic playing cards.
In another operation, combined operatives of Buguias Municipal Police Station (MPS), Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Benguet Police Intelligence Branch (PIB) arrested Marco Parahas Santos, 32, and Francis Fernandez Castro, 31, in the afternoon of September 6 in Buguias, Benguet.
Confiscated from them were a set of playing cards, and bet money amounting to P1,350.
Joint personnel of Benguet Provincial Police Office-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Tublay MPS-DEU, and Regional Intelligence Unit arrested suspected drug pusher Rex Guinomon Labutan, 28, a truck helper and resident of Km 18, Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet in the afternoon of September 10 in Kapungan, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet.
Labuan was caught in the act of selling suspected shabu during a drug bust. Authorities seized the P1,000 buy-bust money, two plastic sachet of suspected shabu and one white cellular phone in his possession.
