2 dead, 1 arrested in anti-illegal drugs ops

ANTI-NARCOTIC agents arrested a 35-year-old woman who was placed number two target listed drug personality in Cagayan de Oro City in a sting operation at Sitio Parola, in Macabalan town on Friday, September 14.

Nabbed was certain Wennie Nacalaban, resident of said village.

Members of the Provincial Special Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Northern Mindanao seized four sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” worth nearly P7, 000.

The drug suspect is now detained at the PDEA's detention facility and will face drug charges.

Meanwhile, police anti-illegal drug operatives killed two drug suspects after they allegedly fought back with the police during the drug bust in Barangay Patrocinio, Claveria, Misamis Oriental.

Killed were Samsudin Tamano and companion Alberto Andales.

Investigation disclosed that the suspects fired their 38 caliber revolver at the operatives after sensing that they were dealing with the police, forcing the authorities to retaliate.

The suspects were brought to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Authorities recovered from the crime scene two caliber 38 revolver, a motorcycle and six sachets of suspected shabu.

Tamano and Andales are the third and fourth fatalities in the war on drugs in Misamis Oriental for this month alone.
