Telus Int’l PH now accepts grant applications

TELUS International Philippines (TIP) announced that it is still accepting funding applications from non-profit and charitable organizations through the company’s community board.

This program is in line with the organization’s commitment, “We give where we live.” The TIP community board is a grant-giving body that looks for worthy-causes and innovative ideas to aid communities with unique needs in the areas of health, environment, and education.

The board distributes up to US$100,000 every year.

Since it started operations in 2012, TIP donated over US $600,000 to help 66 advocacy projects and programs relevant to health, education, arts and culture, technology, and social values formation in the country.

It has supported a wide range of initiatives in these areas.

Workshop

Recently, the Mindfulness, Love, and Compassion (MLAC) Institute for Psychosocial Services utilized their grant to facilitate a workshop for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Command, enhancing the capacity of army medical personnel to attend to trauma survivors of the Marawi siege.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Association for Citizens with Developmental and Learning Disabilities Inc. conducted a workshop in reducing illiteracy among children with disabilities with their grant.

Moreover, projects on crop production for banana and organic black rice farmers, film productions for the youth, and the education of indigenous people have benefited from grants provided by the TIP community board.

“We are always looking out for every possible opportunity to expand our reach and help causes that need support. There are many well-meaning and promising initiatives in the country that are challenged with resources.

“Through the Telus International Philippines community board, we aim to infuse these projects with the necessary resources, so that they may create or amplify their positive social impact,” said Phoebe Carrera, TIP corporate social responsibility manager.

Applications

For this year, the board is now accepting grant applications through https://community.telus.com/get-funding/community-grants.

Non-profit organizations, charitable institutions, and grassroots foundations with projects that are meant to address existing or emerging issues particularly on health, environment, and education through social or technological innovations are eligible to apply for funding.
