PNP orders relief of Midsayap, Gensan top cops over bombings

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde ordered on Monday, September 17, the relief of Midsayap and General Santos City police station chiefs following the explosion in the said towns on September 16.

Cotabato Police Chief Samuel Cadungon will be replaced by Superintendent Joan Maganto, while General Santos City Station 2 commander Chief Inspector Patrich Elma will be replaced by Senior Inspector Davis Dulawan.

On Sunday, around 11:55 a.m., an improvised explosive device went off in front of a drug store in Barangay Apopong, General Santos City. At least seven persons were injured.

Around 7:10 p.m. of Sunday, another improvised explosive device exploded in Poblacion 4, Midsayap, North Cotabato. No one was hurt in the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
