PRO-7 head: Intensify search for rogue persons

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas doubts that some members of Parojinog drug syndicate have transferred to other places to regroup.

Sinas ordered the lower units to monitor their respective areas for the possible presence of rogue personalities following the murders of two men in Mandaue City, who were allegedly connected to the Ozamiz City-based group.

One of the fatalities, identified as Mark Lester Castillo, was reportedly the chief security of former Ozamiz City vice mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, who was arrested in a police raid led by Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido last year.

He was killed in Barangay Cubacub, Mandaue City on Sunday night, September 16.

Sinas said they will coordinate with the PRO 10 (Northern Mindanao) to check the identities of eight to 15 suspected remnants of Parojinog group who are possibly hiding or forming another group in Central Visayas.

The police official said the members possibly left Ozamiz City as Espenido is still hunting them down. He said the incident in Cubacub was possibly initiated by a member of another drug syndicate.

Sinas ordered his personnel to strengthen intelligence monitoring. (KAL)
