Iloilo City provides patrol cars for quick response team

MAYOR Jose Espinosa III has provided two patrol cars for the 24-hour operation of the Iloilo City Government's quick response team.

The vehicles were presented by Espinosa during the flag ceremony Monday, September 17. He said it will help the team to immediately act on public complaints.

The team, in coordination with customer care, is tasked to function even after office hours to address problems in the city.

The composite team will be supervised by Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) head Jeck Conlu and Task Force Anti-Squatting and Illegal Structures (Asis) head Robert Dumanil.

Espinosa said the complaints received by the customer care will be forwarded to the local police or departments that are capable of addressing specific issues.

Other tasks of the team include the regulation and apprehension of traffic violators and illegal parkers.

Aside from the vehicles, Espinosa said he will also provide towing machine to the traffic sector.

He said they will follow the process of apprehension done by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, wherein the seized vehicles will be forwarded to far areas.

Espinosa also said Monday, September 17, that he will provide a 30-seater bus for the City Government departments.

“First time pa lang nga may ara kita 30-seater (bus) nga para sa siyudad (We will have a 30-seater bus for the first time),” Espinosa said.

The bus will cater to visitors and will be utilized during government-related celebrations.

“We will make that bus available sa aton tanan (We will make that bus available to all of us),” he added.
