SUNSTAR Davao Publishing, Inc. has been known as the leading community paper in Davao City.

But the world of Sunstar Davao does not only revolve on breaking news and happenings as it also embraces the community it serves.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, tagged as “Brigada Eskwela,” Sunstar Davao employees visit remote areas and provide relief and assistance mainly to those who belong to the Indigenous Peoples Group or the IP.

Last June, in time for the opening of new School Year, we visited Bayanihan Elementary School in Barangay Baganihan, Marilog Davao City and distributed school supplies for children and feed them with free porridge courtesy of the City Mayor's Office.

SunStar Davao HR supervisor Donna Cuyos said, "Holding this kind of activity is our way of paying back to the community who has been so good to us."

For a couple of years now, Sunstar Davao also participates in the annual tree planting of San Miguel Brewery dubbed as Trees Brew Life. This project aims to protect, preserve and rehabilitate the forest in both urban and rural areas. This will further boost the environment's sustainability in providing good water sources and prevent calamities such as floods.

The smiles and laughter of the people we serve motivates us to continue to stay connected with our community for the past 23 years and decades more to come.
