New irrigation tech in Date 2018

TO ADDRESS the pressing issues of climate change and the lack of water supply, efficient and proper irrigation technologies will be one of the discussion points in this year’s Davao Agri Trade Expo (Date).

Part of the Agribusiness Innovation Conference is to focus on new technologies like aquaponics, internet marketing and blockchain to finance future agribusiness ventures.

One of the international companies which will share their irrigation technology during the expo on September 20 to 22 at SMX, SM Lanang, Davao City is a micro-irrigation solutions innovator from Israel.

“And Israel is growing many crops despite the fact nga desyerto sila. So I’m sure that their expertise of irrigation is something we can all learn from),” Date conference director and Davao Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. vice president John Carlo B. Tria said.

“We are hoping to produce this new technology and get our many agribusiness entrepreneurs interested in non-traditional growing methods,” he added during the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, September 17, 2018 at SM City Davao.

Tria added in this way it will address the issues on climate change as this technology will create outputs that are sustainable both for the farmers and the environment.

Tria also added free technical seminars for Dabawenyos are also available for agricultural entrepreneurs and enthusiasts to learn more about natural farming, and other ways to improve agricultural produce.
