CLARK FREEPORT -- The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has forged a partnership agreement with the local government of General Santos City, South Cotabato.
The signing was led by CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Noel Manankil and General Santos City Mayor Ronnel Rivera during the latter’s recent visit here.
Rivera said the activity is a preliminary step in strengthening linkages between his city and Clark Freeport to help achieve mutual economic benefits.
The partnership also promotes collaborative undertakings in the promotion of air connectivity of both areas through their airports, organization of trade and business missions that focus on tourism and investments, and exchange of best practices on agro-industrial development and environmental protection.
Manankil encouraged the local government of General Santos to push for stronger air connectivity between Clark airport and the city.
He also mentioned the potential of General Santos City as a tourist destination.
“We will be very happy if we have direct air connectivity from Clark to Gensan because they are known for their tuna and beautiful beaches which can be visited by tourists,” Manankil said.
The signing was also witnessed by CDC officers and 20 delegates from General Santos City, formerly known as Dadiangas, a first-class and a highly urbanized city in Mindanao.
