P51-B from DPWH budget funneled to education, agri, health

THE House of Representatives has approved the committee report that realigned the proposed Department of Public Works and Highways' (DPWH) P51-billion budget for at least 15 regions.

The committee report was approved via voce voting or a voice voting during Tuesday’s (September 18) plenary session.

The approval came after the House of Representatives constituted itself as a committee of the whole to craft its own report overriding the earlier committee report referred to the House of Representatives by the House appropriations panel led by Davao Representative Karlo Nograles.

The P51,792,022 budget slashed from the DPWH will go to these departments:

A. Department of Education (construction of tech-voc laboratories) --P3,000,000

B. Department of Agriculture (farm-to-market roads) -- P5,000,000

C. State Universities and Colleges (Capital Outlays) -- P1,200,000

D. Department of Health

(Human Resources for Health Development) -- P3,000,000

(Department of Health Health Facilities Enhancement Program) -- P3,000,000

E. Department of Public Works and Highway

Construction/improvement of access roads leading to tourism destinations -- P10,800,000

Construction/improvement of access roads leading to tides, industries, economic zones and livelihood centers -- P10,792,000

Construction of roads and bridges to decongest traffic -- P10,000,000

F. National disaster risk reduction and management fund (capital outlays) -- P5,000,0000
