FIVE personalities, including a youth council leader, were arrested while another pusher was killed in separate drug busts in Cebu City, Alegria, Balamban and Argao.

The operations happened in 16 hours and yielded more than P16 million worth of illegal drugs.

Past 7 p.m. last Tuesday, operatives of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Station 3 seized P14.7 million worth of suspected shabu on Figueroa St., Barangay San Nicolas Proper, Cebu City.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Royina Garma said the operation was coordinated.

Arrested were Adel Rabanes Villafuerte, 40; Ronnel Yee Ylanan, 26; and Jasmin Delos Santos Villafuerte, 40.

Adel had been listed as a high-value target by CCPO’s Police Station 5.

The pushers caught by MCPO Police Station 3 divulged the names of their suppliers.

Garma said they will trace where the suspects sourced their supply.

The bulk of seized illegal drugs resurfaced suspicions that there is a drug laboratory in Cebu.

But for Garma, she believes there is a big storage for illegal drugs.

The other big haul happened at 7 a.m. yesterday after suspected big-time drug personality Francisco Gervano Ocaña was caught in Sitio Taboan, Barangay Madridejos, Alegria.

Ocaña yielded 110 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.2 million after he was caught by the Cebu Provincial Police Office’s anti-narcotics operatives.

Drug repacking and sniffing paraphernalia and two bullets of a .22 Magnum revolver was also recovered from his possession.

Past 11 p.m. last Tuesday in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, barangay youth council leader Regie Ponce Abanto and Renan Batuhan Sotto were arrested and yielded 12 grams of illegal drugs worth P141,600.

Abanto is the incumbent Barangay Bayong, Balamban Sangguniang Kabataan chairman.

In Barangay Talaytay, Argao, Marloe Limbaga was killed in a shootout with the police past 3 p.m.

Limbaga, a former convict, was a drug surrenderer. He had been listed in the drug watchlist of Sibonga Police Station.

The suspect reportedly was the first one to shoot at the poseur-buyer, who was not hit. KAL
