JUDGING by how many flock to these unlimited chicken wing joints around the city, it’s safe to say that Cebuanos love their chicken wings—lots of it.

If you frequent the area along Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City, you’ve probably passed by Wingers Unlimited at least once and seen the hordes of people inside enjoying their chicken wings, and a queue of others outside awaiting their turn, even on a weekday.

Wingers Unlimited was started by five brothers-in-law—their wives are sisters—who shared a love for chicken. Inspired to make a business out of this mutual appreciation, they formed 5 Brads Dragon Food (5BDF) Corp. New York Buffalo Brad’s Hot Wings in Cebu I.T. Park was the group’s first business venture. But since this brand was a tad upscale, 5BDF wanted to serve good chicken wings that everyone could afford. So they started Wingers Unlimited in July 2017, a bang-for-your-buck unlimited chicken wing restaurant.

For P268, one gets unlimited wings, rice, fries and drinks, which include sodas, bottled water and juices. If one prefers to wash down greasy fried chicken wings with an ice cold bottle of beer, Wingers also has local beers sold separately.

For the chicken wings, one can choose from five flavors: Sgt. Garlic Pepper, Major Barbecue, Col. Sweet Mustard, Private Plain and John Doe, a monthly mystery flavor—which means regular patrons can have their old favorites and get excited about a new flavor to try with every visit.

The best part about dining at Wingers is that it’s completely up to the diner how many pieces he wants and in what sauce. It doesn’t matter if he wants one piece or six of this flavor or that; he can order enough for his appetite, ensuring no leftovers.

In an effort to lessen paper usage and be more eco-conscious, the restaurant’s servers use iPads to take customers’ orders.

Get your chicken wing fix at Wingers Unlimited at any of its three locations: Mango Square Mall, Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City; M. L. Quezon Ave., Maguikay, Mandaue City and the recently opened branch in J.Y. Prestigio, Lahug, Cebu City. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for all branches.
