Lawmen arrest 2 high-value targets in Zamboanga

LAWMEN have arrested two high-value targets and seized over P400,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate law enforcement operations in the Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Thursday, September 20.

Arrested were drug personalities Leonardo Catubay and Alnizar Kaisal, according to Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer.

Galvez said Catubay was arrested in a drug bust at 8:20 p.m. in Larayan village, Dapitan City.

She said confiscated from Catubay were five small-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu,” P1,000 marked money, a pack of cigarettes and a cellular phone.

Galvez said Kaisal was arrested upon serving search warrant around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Talon-Talon village, Zambonga City.

She said confiscated from Kaisal were 13 heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P408,000 and illegal drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were arrested by joint team of policemen, soldiers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives and, at present, detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, she added.
