RDL through the years

IT ALL started with a vision.

When Leonora Lim, the founder of RDL Pharmaceutical Inc., started with developing one beauty product in 1994, she knew she would be reaching more than she could ever imagine.

She knew that she would be making a significant contribution and be one of the top competitive companies in the beauty industry.

And indeed, for the last 23 years, RDL has been serving the people locally and internationally with high quality, safe and innovative skin care products.

Last September 12, 2018, RDL held a press conference for the comeback of their very first endorser way back 1997, actress Angelika Dela Cruz at the D’Leonor Hotel while highlighting the three major products – the Astringents, Facial Cleansers, and the Whitening Soap.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa pagbabalik ko sa pamilya ng RDL. Lagi ko nga po sinasabi na mula noon, hanggang ngayon, alagang RDL parin po ako,” Angelika said.

Angelika has always been the face of RDL since then. Her comeback also emphasized the companies’ acknowledgment to the consumers who have remained loyal to the products of RDL through the years.

The Executive Vice President for Operations of RDL, Mercedita D. Lim, during the event said their products survived the ever-changing trends in the world mainly because of its effectivity in bringing out youthful look as promised.

“Tumatagal ang product it is because effective siya,” Lim explained, adding that affordability is also one key factor.

Meanwhile, RDL Sales and Marketing Manager Anthony John Modequillo announced that there will be new products to launch next year.

The millennials have been using the products too because the company also understand the importance of coping with digitization through indulging in the social media platforms such as Facebook.

RDL products have received several awards such as the National Product Quality Excellence Awards, Consumer Choice Awards, National Shoppers Choice Awards, National Consumers Quality Awards, Most Outstanding Skin Care Products, National Achievements Excellence Awards, among others.

Meanwhile, Lim said that it is important for the company to leave the legacy from generation to generation just as how it thrived until today.

“Gusto ko talaga na yung RDL, yung legacy niya ay ma-handle through generations as it started with my mom, and then kami,” Lim said.

Presently, RDL products are actively distributed in other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Ghana, Qatar, Bhutan, Africa, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Jeddah, Nepal and Thailand.

The company was not solely active in growing the business but also in helping the underprivileged as part of their commitment and corporate social responsibility, through charity foundation and scholarship grants.

The success of the company was undeniably clear, all because 23 years ago, there was a vision.
