“I have not read the order to suspend quarry operations in the province yet but if it is implemented, my request is for the province to fast track the review and evaluation of their operations in ensure the safety of the people working in the mines as well as the people living within the vicinity of the mined areas,” pamahayag ni Chiu.
Dugang niya nga sa Sugbo, usa ning industriya sa semento ug konstruksyon nga maapektohan karon nga gihunong ang quarry.
“We should bear in mind that a lot of people also depend on the mining industry for their livelihood,” nagkanayon si Chiu.
Ang semento nga produkto gikan sa Sugbo usa sa gisaligan sa mga panginahanglan nga semento sa Visayas ug Mindanao.
“This will have a big impact on the Build Build Build program of PRRD if not resolved soon,” dugang niya.

Samtang ang Apo Land and Quarry Corporation (ALQC) andam motuman sa cease and desist order sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

“ALQC has also established a care fund to financially assist families who lost their loved ones, as well as those who were injured during the unfortunate incident,” kini nagkanayon.

“ALQC likewise committed to support the medium and long term plans of the City to address the present situation which include the creation of a slope stabilization plan that will be submitted to the MGB,” dugang sa pamahayag.
